Services offered by Debbie's Doula Baby Service for the complete baby service in Redditch, Worcestershire, West Midlands, Warwickshire
I offer a range of services for women and couples during pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. I am also happy to talk with you about your specific needs and tailor my services to suit the needs of you and your family.
Antenatal services
While no one plans for a high risk pregnancy, occasionally the reality is that sometimes things don’t go as you imagine they would. In those cases, the routine approach to pregnancy and childbirth is often insufficient. Through my Doula services, I help you review and form new expectations about your pregnancy and ensure that you don’t feel isolated or alone as you cope with the challenges.
I may also talk about such practicalities as buying baby equipment, organising the nursery or helping you organise your home before and after you have had the baby.
I will give you personalised special hands on support as you progress through your pregnancy.
Birth Support
The value of hiring a Birth Doula cannot be measured. No one ever forgets the birth of their children. The Doula can help ensure that those lasting memories are happy, healthy ones. Doulas nurture women, both physically and emotionally during their labour and birth. I offer help and advice on comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation and positioning. It is a Doulas goal to help mother have a safe and satisfying childbirth experience, as defined by herself and to keep the her outlook balanced and positive.
With a Doula present at the birth, fathers can share in the birth at a level they feel most comfortable with, the Doulas skills and knowledge can help them feel more relaxed which help fathers experience this special time with confidence by giving emotional support, being reassuring, showing them how to be more effective in their role and feel more involved if that is what they want.
Postnatal Services
Postnatal Doulas work alongside women and their families, offering uncomplicated support and education around care of a newborn. Self care, coping skills and household management are all within the scope of practice for a Postnatal Doula.
The family can relax into their new lives, knowing they are taken care of, while they grow in confidence and get to know each other for the first time. The presence of an experienced woman can be a comfort for you and an invaluable resource when everything feels so new. I will respect and support your choices as a parent and your parenting style which will, in turn, help you to trust yourself as a parent
