Profile of Debbie's Doula Baby Service for the complete baby service in Redditch, Worcestershire, West Midlands, Warwickshire
For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by birth and babies, to me, the pregnant woman is beautiful and powerful. The birth of my own three children ignited a passion for being with women as they grow and birth their own babies. The experience of birth is one of the most profound and transformative experiences you are ever likely to have, and the memory of it will remain with you for life.
My philosophy on birth is simple - it’s the birthright of both a woman and her baby to have a positive and respectful birth experience. Everything I do is aimed at helping each woman I support to achieve that for herself . I consider it a privilege to be involved on your birth journey as you welcome the newest member of your family.
I began my Douala training looking for a way to offer women the kind of practical and emotional support that’s missing from the traditional medical role of care. One of the most important decisions, whilst considering my training was what training provider would be able to offer me credible qualifications that would broaden and enrich my personal horizons. I chose a combined Antepartum/Birth/Postnatal academic course that had been accredited by Middlesex University. Part of the course was presented by The National childbirth Trust (NCT). The courses I completed developed a questioning spirit and has inspired me with enthusiasm for new ideas. However my training will last forever, as every birth gives me a different experience. Doulas are learners, they explore, they guide, they share - it goes on and on developing along their journey with self development and human growth ones empowerment grows.
